Hello

As a youngster, there were two areas that I had a strong interest - in architecture/engineering and in visual media.  The architecture side manifested itself in the form of a scale model I built in my early high school years of the Chicago White Sox old stadium, the original Comiskey Park (with working lights, and still at my parents' home) , and the media side came in the form of my love of different audio/visual toys like the View-Master,  Fisher-Price movie viewer and later the Pocket Flix.

Immediately after high school  I went to college to learn more about the engineering side.  Although most of my full-time working career since the early 90's has been spent in the engineering field,  at the same time I continued to feed my media passion.  I informally created JBK Productions in 1996 after I produced and edited the video for my own wedding with equipment I rented/borrowed.  After continuing to study the art through videography books and magazines and hustling for any opportunity to gain field experience, I later purchased my first video camera and editing gear and shot more weddings and events for family, friends, and my first official clients.  When that wasn't enough, I decided to start dabbling in productions at the CAN-TV cable access channel as a camera operator and editor.  And when I decided to kick it up yet another notch, I officially formed UCV in May of 2001.

Since that time I have continued to be blessed to receive opportunities to create media products for various clients, and have worked to expand services to include corporate/promotional video, live stage productions, and most recently multi-camera live streaming packages. I also decided that I wanted to finally live out a dream to pursue more formal education for my media passion, so I enrolled in the Media Communications program at the new Kennedy-King College in 2008.

My hope is that my passion for media translates into successful projects for my clients - projects that preserve  memories of your special events, stir interest for more information about your business or organization, or enables the  pursuit of your own passion of storytelling or entertaining an audience.  Whatever the intent of your project, UCV is available to turn your vision to reality!
